Backing Track - Can you Feel the Love Tonight
This ‘Lion King’ tune arrangement was requested for a church Christmas concert. Due to the intended venue it follows the original melody with only a few minor embellishments. However, to bring out the versatility of the guitar, and to provide variety to the core melody I ‘improvised’ verse 3 using the notes from the Bb key scale AND targeting the underlying chords tones which all the greats do !

Lesson Guide - Can you Feel the Love Tonight
Remember, when improvising don’t just play anything that fits, always strive to serve the tune. Although a slow tempo throughout, it’s great for practicing your ‘melodic’ and timing skills using the backing track on the website. Suitable for electric and acoustic guitars. Its a great tune to add to your ‘set list’ - Enjoy!
Rhythm Guitar
Using simple ‘triad’ shape chords this Rhythm arrangement is suitable for acoustic and electric guitars. Remember to keep your volume down. The rhythm guitar job is to fill the ‘space’ in the background harmony, not as an ‘up front’ instrument. Obviously, you don’t have to use the chord inversions I’m using but I recommend you try them. They provide all the chords you need in a small Fret Board area so making changing from chord to chord easier.

Rhythm Guitar supplies the background harmony whether on it’s own or with other instruments. Practice along with the Backing Track on the website first to get your chord changes and timing ‘spot on’ before playing along with the melody (either a singer or instrument). NOTE: The rhythm guitar would not normally be played this loud. It would be mixed withinin the backing harmony. This video is for lesson purpose only.
